  • WICHITA FALLS, TX, 8/3/26 - On August 5th at 12:00 pm at the Veteran’s Memorial Plaza, Democratic candidate for Congress in Texas 13, Mark Nair, will join several West Texas veterans to oppose Rep. Ronny Jackson’s candidacy for Congress and the Chairmanship of the House Armed Services Committee.

    Jackson, who recently authored a bill that would merge the American and Israeli military in unprecedented, undefined, and dangerous ways, announced his candidacy for Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee on July 13th 2026. The U.S. Navy had demoted Jackson from Rear Admiral (Lower Half) to Captain following a years-long ethics investigation found his character was unbecoming of a Naval officer.

    “An independent and non-partisan investigation found Ronny Jackson’s behavior unfit for leadership in the Navy. I find his behavior unfit for being the representative of our district,” says Nair, “He hasn’t held a town hall in over 1,000 days. He hasn’t done anything for the people of Texas 13 other than stir up hatred and division. The people of our district deserve better.”

    The press conference will feature multiple veterans from the Wichita Falls area, and across Texas 13, who oppose elevating Ronny Jackson to one of Congress's most powerful national security leadership positions. Nair will conclude the press conference with his own remarks on Jackson’s record and his own plan to work for Texas 13 if elected.

  • AMARILLO, TX, 7/23/26 - Representative Ronny Jackson once again shows his disconnect from everyday Texans by authoring the provision in the 2027 Defense Bill that critics from both parties say would integrate the U.S. and Israeli militaries in a dangerous and unprecedented way. The measure — modeled on Jackson’s own U.S.-Israel FUTURES Act — would put a Pentagon official in charge of merging the two countries’ defense research and industry, with limited oversight from Congress. The provision drew a bipartisan effort to remove it, led in the House by Rep. Thomas Massie, and Rep. Ro Khanna. The United States has never blended with an ally at this level before and if passed in the Senate, would integrate the American and Israeli militaries more deeply than the U.S. is integrated with any NATO ally.

    At a time where Americans are increasingly angry with Israel’s influence over American foreign policy, Rep. Jackson has shown he is more beholden to his big money donors and foreign governments than to the American people. America has already spent $37.5 billion in taxpayer money on the disastrous war with Iran, not to mention the billions sent to Israel as it has continued its genocide against the Palestinian people.

    “Nobody in our district wants this,” says Mark Nair, the Democrat running for U.S. Congress in District 13 against Jackson. “The people of Texas 13 want good jobs, fair wages, and lower prices. Ronny Jackson is completely out of touch.”

    Jackson’s push for the bill comes as his own district struggles. An average of 14.6% of Texans in District 13 live below the poverty line, higher than the national average of 12.5%. Rents are tripling because of AI data centers. Gas prices are up 30% since the start of the war in Iran. There seems to be no end in sight.

    “Texans deserve better than this,” says Nair. “We deserve a representative that knows the issues our working families are facing and works for these families, every single day. Jackson has no idea what the people in our district need. He hasn’t held a town hall in more than 1,000 days.”
