Mark Nair is a husband, father, former City Councilman, inventor, entrepreneur, educator, and 30-year Amarillo resident running to be your local voice in Congress. Mark is committed to representing each and every citizen of Congressional District 13 and returning the voice of our district to the people. Regardless of party line, Mark will unite the district through policies that work for everyone.

The Texans of CD-13 deserve a leader who lives here, listens to the people, and will represent the fiercely independent spirit of this district. Our Founding Fathers established this country "of the People, by the People, and for the People." Mark will fight to ensure that government serves your interests and not the whims of billionaires, big corporations, or their political lackeys, yes men, and sycophants.

Mark is an inventor and entrepreneur with multiple patents. Committed to giving back, Mark mentors future leaders by guiding startup companies both at the Texas Tech Innovation Hub and the National Science Foundation. A member of the National Academy of Inventors, he delivers creative solutions to real-world problems. For more than 20 years he worked as the head of innovation for Anderson Merchandisers, a large employer in Amarillo. As an educator, Mark earned the 2020 Faculty Excellence Award at Amarillo College, where he taught Economics and Software Development. In Congress, Mark will bring that same drive for innovation and independent thinking to solve our fiscal, housing, water, and accountability crises.

While serving as an Amarillo City Council member, Mark called out the tough issues. Specifically, he brought to the table the often ignored needs of the north and east sides of the city. Committed to transparency, he opened up City Hall by moving conversations into the community and tearing down barriers of secrecy. A passionate outdoorsman and cyclist, Mark championed expanded bike lanes and park improvements, partnering with healthcare leaders to promote healthier lifestyles. 

Mark and his wife, Suzanne, a special education teacher, have been married for more than three decades and raised their three children in the Texas Panhandle. Mark is deeply grateful to all those who have influenced and aided him, never forgetting those three words “We The People.” Mark believes success isn’t the result of one person or idea alone, but of people coming together and working to better their community.
