One thing I have neglected to mention is the baking success Suzanne, Megan, and Alex had at ye olde Tri State Fair this year. The Tri State Fair is a collection of carney rides, animals, heart stopping deep fried food (including deep fried bread, deep fried ice cream, and deep fried pickles), handmade quilts, gigantic vegetables, and odd smells.
This year Suzanne, Megan, and Alex entered the cookie baking contest and came out cookie champs. There are all sorts of bizarre cookie rules and categories and age groups that distinguish some cookies from other cookies, but in the end the results were:
Third place, a ribbon, and a crisp one dollar bill: Suzanne her oatmeal cookies.
Second place, a ribbon, and two dollars: Megan and her Brittle cookies. Megan says, "These are made with chocolate chip nuts and lots of other good stuff. You put them on the pan and spread them out with your spoon. You put them in the oven and let them bake, and then you cut them into pieces. They won second place and got a ribbon."
First place, a ribbon, and three dollars: Alex and his Magic Cookie Bars. According to Alex: " Well, it's magic yummy! It's made with chocolate chips, coconut, and mashed up grahm crackers. Put it in the microwave - I mean oven, and then spread it on a rectangle pan. Yummy, yummy."
And of course, at the end of the fair, there were no cookies left. The judges ate them all up.
